CO98:Students would learn concepts and models of the development journalism. CO99:Students would know the barriers in development communication. CO100:Students would understand working of government and administration. CO111:Students would learn programmes and policies of the state and the centre. CO112:Students would know the rural India and its problems and gaps. CO113:Students will observe development process of rural-urban Rajasthan closely. .

Development communication: Concept of Development, Indicators of Development, Role of communication in Development. Sustainable Development. Media and Ideology: Marxist, Mixed Economy, Gandihian Approach and Capitalism.
Psychological Theories: Selective Exposure, Selective Perception and Selective Retention.
Development Journalism: Need and Relevance, International Initiatives of Development: IPDC, Las Banos Initiative, UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO and African/Asian Development Bank.
Development issues in Rajasthan: Geographical, Social and Economic.
Health: Health communication, New diseases and Epidemics, WHO guidelines. Weather and agriculture- Importance of weather, Impact of monsoon on economy, Green Revolution, Need for Evergreen Revolution, Genetically Modified (GM) seeds, Seed banks, Irrigation land use.
Challenges of Agriculture in Rajasthan.
Environment: Pollution, Global warming and climate change-its effect, ecological footprint, role of NGOs, bio-diversity.
Energy: Growing need of energy, Conventional and non-conventional sources of energy, controversies, regulatory authorities.
Environment Conservation and Renewable energy sources in Rajasthan.
Issues in development with special reference to Rajasthan : Urban and Rural development, water and waste management, education, employment. Globalization and democracies, pluralism, oppressive structures, gender equality.
