Practical: Photography and Digital Techniques
This course will enable the students to -
- Understand the basics and techniques of digital photography.
- Capture various types of photographs by understanding lighting techniques and rules of composition.
- Understand the basics of photo editing software.
Learning Outcome:
1. Students would be able to understand basic principles, techniques and application of photography.
2. Students would be ready to operate in any media organization as photoJournalist.
4. Students would know the importance of photo features, captioning and photos with news.
5. Students would learn to digitally edit photographs using various softwares.

Understanding Light: Natural light and Artificial Light;
The Nature of Light- Direct Light, Soft light, Hard light;
Three Point Lighting; Lighting equipment (Soft boxes, umbrellas, Fresnel’s, Skimmers, reflectors etc)
Photo Editing,Digital Dark Room, Correcting imperfect images: Picture orientation, Cropping, Levels, Altering brightness and contrast, Red eye
Concept of Photojournalism, Picture Story, Photo Captioning, Photo Features. Shoot for Still life, Portrait, Macro and Speed Photography. Outdoor field visits: Monuments/Festivals/ Biodiversity/Wildlife Parks/ Sanctuaries
