Objective: 

 

This course will enable students to:

• Understand and know the principles, forms and process of cinema as a discipline.

• Know the various theories of cinema studies

• Relate various technologies and their development.

 

 

 

Development of print media, with special emphasis on Indian press. Development of printing technology in print media

 

Ownership and management of Print Media. Commercial exportation of the print media.
Control and vested business interest in the media .Revenue generation and unethical practices

Changing News Paper Scene, Future of News Papers. Ethical theories and concept, Press ethics and core code of conduct problems of implementation, Problems of infrastructure and trained human resources, poverty, The challenges of Third World Journalists, Govt. and the Press in the third world.

 

Media criticism and media literacy, Press Council and Press Commissions of India, status of journalism and media education in India. Media policies of the Government of India since Independence.Gender Sensitive Reporting and Editing, Role and contribution of women journalist towards Indian media..

 

Study of research related to print media.
New trends in presentation and content in print media. Challenges and prospects of Print Media, Problems of Press freedom.
