This course gives an in-depth introduction to radio broadcasting as a medium of  mass communication, its growth, development, concept of commercial and community radio, organizational structure for radio network, the modern trends and innovation in hardware and software and the nuances of radioing

Introduction to Sound Studio- Types; Specifications; Equipments and Acoustics.

Unit II: 

Microphones- Types- Classification on the basis of use, direction and structure.
Cables and Connectors; Maintenance of Microphones.

 

Unit III: 

Recording – Analogue and Digital; Analogue and Digital Equipments;
Recording Software.

 

Unit IV: 

Amplifiers and Speakers- Principle of Working; Types and Structure.

Unit V: 

Transmission- Transmitter and other equipments.
