Objective: 

 

This course will enable students to:

  • To know the growth and development of Tourism Industry in India.
  • To observe the travel journalism as a separate field of study.
  • To examine new approaches ,challenges and areas of researches in Travel Journalism
Unit I: 

Architectural Heritage of India: Glimpses on the Prominent Architecture Style - Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic. World Heritage Sites in India. Performing art of India Tourism significance Fairs and Festivals. Wildlife Sanctuaries, National Parks and Natural Reserves in India Hill Stations: Beaches and Islands.

 

 

Unit II: 

Concepts, definitions and historical development of travel tourism in India. Introduction and determinants of tourism demand, of travel tourism demand. Emerging trends and new thrust areas of Indian tourism learning.

 

Unit III: 

Travel Journalism: Concept. Growth and Development of Travel Journalism. Qualities of Travel Journalists. Career, Path and Progression of Travel Journalists. Types of Travel Journalists- Freelance travel journalist, Staff travel journalist, Trade travel journalist, Travel author, Travel blogger, Travel Columnist.   

 

 

Unit IV: 

Travel Journalism: Challenges and Opportunities- Role of Travel Journalist. Comparison -Travel Journalist Travel Writer Foreign Correspondent. Importance of Audience Content Publication in Travel Journalism, Travel Photography 

 

 

Unit V: 

International Tourism: Top ten destinations of the world India’s position in the World. Objectives and Role of WTO, IATA, PATA – An Introduction.
