A media seminar organized by Grassroot Media Foundation
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication has taken students for a visit to attend
A media seminar which was organized by Grassroot Media Foundation at Rajasthan Hindi
Granth Academy, on Saturday, August 31, 2016. The seminar was organized on the topic of
Media Ethics and New Media. The Eminent Speakers for the occasion was Senior Journalist,
Avinash Kalla; Mr. Shaktawat, India News; Mr. Ashwini Pareek, Investigative Journalist, First
India News; Mr. Goverdhan Choudhary, First India News and Mr. Ankit Tiwari, ETV Rajasthan.
The first session of the seminar was on ‘Media Ethics’. While speaking on the topic Mr.
Shaktawat shared the importance of ethics being a media person. He said that Media is not a
profession, it is a passion. If you follow it as a passion than only you will be able to do justice
with your work and will be able to face yourself eye to eye in the mirror. He also suggested the
students not to keep ethics aside.
In the next session, Mr. Avinash Kalla talked about the power of New Media. He shared his
experiences and said that new media is the least expensive and the fastest media to share
information. If you don’t get a chance to work in the main stream media, new media is the
strongest media platform to express your views. The students were enlightened by the hands on
experience of the Media personalities. Approximately 50 students of the department attended the
seminar.
