A one day workshop on Outdoor Photography

On August 18th, 2013, a photography workshop was organized by Deepak Sachdeva, Associate professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication. This was to familiarize the all students of  mass communication, with the techniques of shooting news on Video Cameras ( Sony HDR-XR 130 E and HDR-XR 130 E) and Still Cameras ( Sony Cyber shot )

          The students were lectured on first understanding the camera they were operating and then setting the menu of the camera as per the requirement and the need. The students were given a demonstration on fixing camera on tripod, framing shots, and composing.

            The students later practiced taking shots of various activities at the campus of the IIS University.  Some of the students had got their own video cameras. After a short lecture demonstration, the students practiced taking shots of moving objects. The video was reviewed later and the students told of their shortcomings in the recorded video. A demonstration was given on basic camera operations and planning of shot takings.  The students also got a chance to learn about the practical aspects of still photography.
