On August 10th, 2023, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized an orientation session at the AV Studio, marking the beginning of the academic year for the new batch of students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 32 students, who were eager to embark on their journey in the field of journalism and mass communication.
The program commenced with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, Dr. Sakshi Arya, who provided an overview of the department's history, vision, and achievements. This was followed by an introduction to the faculty members, highlighting their areas of expertise and research interests, which helped the students get acquainted with their mentors for the upcoming academic journey.
The highlight of the event was a special session with the guest of honor, Ms. Vidhi Jain, Marketing and Communications Manager at Hyatt Regency, Jaipur. An esteemed alumna of the department, Ms. Jain shared her professional journey, insights, and experiences in the field of marketing and communications. She spoke at length about the evolving dynamics of the media and communications industry, emphasizing the importance of adaptability, creativity, and effective communication skills. She also provided valuable tips on how to navigate the job market and build a successful career.
Ms. Jain's session was followed by an interactive Q&A segment, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with her.
