A Seminar on Digital Literacy

Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of The IIS University organized A Seminar on Digital Literacy on 23 July 2018 in Vinayak Hall, IISU campus, Jaipur. 

The Seminar was mentored by Gyan Gupta, CEO, First wall and Dainikbhaskar digital business. DB Corp announced major changes in its digital business division DB Digital and split the division into two segments namely Content and a new video app venture platform (FirstWall). While the group websites operated under the Content division, DB Corp had set up a new video app venture platform of the group, which was headed by Gyan Gupta.

Prior to FirstWall, Gyan Gupta was the CEO of DB Digital, the digital arm of DB Corp, the media company home to flagship newspapers – Dainik Bhaskar, Divya Bhaskar, Divya Marathi and Saurashtra Samachar.

He has played an instrumental role in conceptualizing multiple unique features and properties and introducing path-breaking initiatives for the brand. He has also donned multiple leadership roles in the past three years ranging from business head to COO and CEO.

He said that the digital media face is changing rapidly and there is flood of options for the youngsters who aspire to build career in this stream.

He further introduced the students with the First Wall app- Ab India dekhega, Khudka Social Video app and told students to be part of the app.

Miss Meenakshi Rathore on the occasion showed some slides and briefed about the app and its utility in the digital age. She also guided the students about how they can use the append,  get popularity and improve their skills by uploading videos of covering the daily news updates which will groom them slowly to be in the media industry in the coming future.100 students of JMC attended the seminar. The Seminar proved really fruitful for the students. The faculties of JMC were present during the session. Dr Garima Shrivastava, Head of Dept. JMC gave vote of thanks.
