Orientation Session cum Alumnae Interaction

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, IIS (deemed to be University) organized Orientation Session cum Alumnae Interaction on Thursday,  August 10th, 2023. The session brought together students, alumni, and industry experts for a day of learning, networking, and inspiration.

The highlight of the event was the presence of Ms. Aastha Mandiratta, an accomplished alumna and Head of Client Solutions at the News 18 network. Ms. Mandiratta shared her invaluable industry insights and experiences. She shared the story of how during her first interview with Shahrukh Khan she froze which she took as learning and interviewed Salman Khan for her next assignment with confidence. She motivated the attendees with her journey from student to industry leader.

The session provided a unique platform for current students to engage with Ms. Mandiratta and other notable alumnae, including Ms. Utkarsha Shekhar, Ms. Jayati Mishra, Ms. Alfisha Khan, Ms. Akshita Tambi, Ms. Rhytham Jain, Ms. Rakshita Yadav, and Ms. Saloni Agarwal. Their stories of success and challenges resonated with the audience, reinforcing the department's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering connections.

Faculty members and students actively participated in discussions and interactive sessions, exchanging ideas and insights on the evolving landscape of journalism and mass communication. The event showcased the symbiotic relationship between academia and the industry, allowing students to gain a real-world perspective on their chosen field.
