Objective: 

This course will enable students to understand the working of the Internet and its implication in Mass Media.

Introduction of Internet- Characteristics; Types of connections; Web Browsers, World Wide Web- Web Pages; Web Site; Home Pages, Domain Names and IP Addressing, Electronic Mail.

Internet Protocol, Web Server Protocols, Search Engines, TCP/IP, Blogs, Social Networking Sites, Computer Security, Security threat and Security attack, hacking.

Introduction to Multimedia: Definition, Characteristics of multimedia system, Components of multimedia.

Introduction to DBMS: Database Definition, Database System Applications, View of Data, Data Abstraction, Data Independence.

HTML –Introduction; Structure of HTML document; Structuring Web Page; Paragraph and Line Break Tags. Adding Comments; Formatting Text; Creating lists; Creating definition list; Creating Hyper text links, Tables: Creating tables, Width and Border attribute.

HTML - Inserting Inline Images; Creating Image Links; Horizontal Rules; Address Tags, Working with text, Changing Font Sizes and Colors, Using a Background Image, Marquee Tag.
