Objective: 

This course will enable the students to understand the basics and the technicalities of television programming. Students will also be acquainted with the process of TV production and video editing techniques.

Fundamentals of TV Production- Pre-Production, Production and Post-Production. Production Personnel – Roles & Responsibilities, Genres of TV Programming. Target audience, Production Feasibility, Budget & Financial Planning.

Basic Shots, Camera Angles and Camera Movements.                          

 Writing for TV Programmes- Idea, Treatment, Story, Script, Screenplay and Storyboard.

Unit III: 

Features and Functions of  Video Camera. Concept of Colour Balance. Camera Mounting Gears. 

Single Camera Production Technique including the concept of Continuity and Imaginary line.

Unit IV: 

Multi Camera Production Technique.

Basic Television Lighting- Natural and Artificial Lighting, Hard and Soft Light Sources, Three Point lighting and Digital lights.

Sound Recording- Recording in Studio and Field, Balancing and Mixing of Sound.

Video Editing- Art and Technique, Paper Editing and EDL, Linear & Non-Linear editing., On line and Off line editing Special Effect and Titling.
