“Crisis Communication in Covid Time with Shri. Naveen Jain”

The department of Journalism and Mass Communication, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur organised an interactive session on 21st April, 2021 on the occasion of National Public Relations Day. The topic for the session was Crisis Communication in Covid Time with Shri. Naveen Jain- IAS Govt. of Rajasthan, as the key-note speaker.

Mr. Naveen Jain is the Secretary, Labour& Employment, Skill & Entrepreneurship & Boiler Inspection & Medical & Health Services (E.S.I) and Commissioner, Labour & Employment, Government of Rajasthan. He undertook various initiatives in different government departments when he was serving as district Magistrate of Baran, Karauli, Hanumagarh and Rajsamand as well as Director in different departments at the Secretariat. He has also led various e-initiatives as Mission Director, National Health Mission in Rajasthan such as ASHA Soft, e-shubhlaxmi and many more.

Mr. Jain designed the session around the idea of adopting a positive attitude during the pandemic. He shared his valuable insights from his experience of working as a communicator with his post as an IAS officer. Apart from the message of positivity, Mr. Jain discussed tools for effective crisis communication with providing psychological support. By the end of the session, he shared intriguing thoughts which made listeners contemplate, quoting “Silence of effective communicators is deafening…No weapon, medicine or strategy can be equivalent to Communication; rather sitting idle contribute by playing an active role.”

The session was attended by over 100 participants from different states and regions of the nation.
