Objective of the workshop/seminar/activity: The objective of the 2-day workshop on "Writing for Media" was to enhance the writing skills of students in both English and Hindi, focusing on creative media writing techniques. The workshop aimed to provide students with practical insights into writing for different formats in the media industry, including editorial pieces, opinion writing, and creative storytelling. It was designed to improve the students' ability to craft compelling content for print, digital, and broadcast media, while also teaching them how to engage diverse audiences through effective language and storytelling strategies.

Day 1: Creative Writing (English) with Ms. Kavita Pant
The first day of the workshop featured Ms. Kavita Pant, Associate Editor (Opinion) at News 9, who led an engaging session on creative writing in English. Ms. Pant shared her expertise in crafting opinion pieces, editorials, and persuasive writing for media. She emphasized the importance of structure, clarity, and persuasive language while writing for a diverse audience. The session included a discussion on the nuances of writing engaging editorial content that balances objectivity with strong, impactful opinions. Ms. Pant also provided students with practical exercises that helped them improve their writing skills and understand the dynamics of writing for digital and traditional media platforms.
Day 2: Creative Writing (Hindi) with Mr. Amit Sharma
On the second day, Mr. Amit Sharma, State Head Video at Dainik Bhaskar App, focused on creative writing in Hindi. His session revolved around how to write compelling content for Hindi-language media, particularly for digital platforms like news apps. Mr. Sharma provided insights into writing video scripts, crafting catchy headlines, and creating engaging, short-form content that resonates with a digital audience. The session also touched upon the significance of multimedia storytelling, where written content is enhanced by visual elements. He emphasized the importance of cultural sensitivity and language that connects with the target audience while remaining concise and impactful.
